Review Season 2011/2012 - Part 1

One More season please ??

"We've got a bit of silverware back in the cupboard after six years; we're back in Europe at the first time of asking. We were near to winning the FA Cup Final. Not a bad first season" - Kenny on BBC

1- LFC under KK reign have spent (in two transfer windows )around 50% of what we spent under Rafa’s WHOLE SIX year stint ( both gross spend and net spent) .

2- Graeme Souness departed after successive sixth-placed finishes and an FA Cup win. His successor, Roy Evans, never finished outside the top four and was replaced after an ill-fated partnership with Houllier a year after finishing third.

3- Rafa Benítez lost his job after finishing seventh having previously never failed to participate in the Champions League,

4- Even if we win the next EPL games we will finish 55 points. That is even 8 points lower than what we achieved in Rafa’s final and worst season when we finished 63 points in 7the place .

5- West Brom recorded their first win at Anfield since 1967.

6- LFC had Lowest number of home wins in the league since 1949 ( when we won 5 )

7- Wigan Athletic celebrated its first-ever win at Anfield this season.

8- Fulham won its first match ever at Anfield

9- Our 3 in a row losses this season in league games was the first time in 10 years .

10- Our loss to QPR was the first time in 11 years that we lost after leading 2-Nil ( last time it was loss against Leeds United 4-3) .

11- Even under disastrous Souness we have not finished a season with less than 59 points . BTW, in Souness’ first season we won the FA Cup and the Community Shield.
